Tucked away in the hidden paradise of Golden Bay, Shambhala a quiet and peaceful retreat nestled in the beauty of nature and decorated with tasteful artistic touches.
The Shambhala Guest House is situated atop a hill with magnificent views over Golden Bay. A 100-metre walk will get you down to our own secluded beach, where you can go swimming or snorkelling, find beautiful shells and stones, and occasionally spot seals. There are also nice beach walks you can do in either direction depending on the tides.
The Guest House is open during the summer months (October to June) and offers unique budget accommodation.
Beautiful mosaic artwork, paintings and sculptures nourish your soul along with the natural beauty of the place.
Shambhala is known to the people of the Himalayan region. To some it is known as a hidden kingdom (Paradise), to others it is a “state of consciousness”.
Shambhala is in a central location to explore both sides of the Golden Bay, from The Abel Tasman National Park to Farewell Spit. Rental vehicle available from Shambhala.
In the winter at Shambhala we offer different kinds of retreats.
RECOMMENDED LENGTH OF STAY: 1 week at least to sample all that Golden Bay has to offer and to soak up the ambience of Shambhala.
